NOT NOT,
AN OFFICE, AN EXHIBITION
Medium: Architectural Installation
Van Alen Institute
Year: 2026
In collaboration with Ekin Bilal
NOT NOT is a design practice that explores the overlooked dimensions of architecture as sites for political and creative inquiry. NOT NOT, An Exhibit, is composed of the inaugural output of the office, which extends beyond conventional architectural formats to include video games, animations, comics, and machines.
The exhibition is aware of its own limited lifespan; it is designed to be assembled and disassembled without harming a single piece of construction material. Only one custom element was produced for this installation: hand-like clamps that safely hold all the other stock in place. At the end of the exhibition, all materials will return to the place from which they came, the Gowanus Home Depot. This has the twofold benefit of reducing the waste normally associated with architecture exhibitions and keeping the production within budget.
